The sooner a new creditor recognizes this path to liberation, the better. In fact, no one has to wait many years to see the path to liberation. You don`t have to suffer a lot of problems before you experience freedom. Many brothers and sisters wasted their time unnecessarily; They shed many tears of defeat. Those who want to experience less pain and tears should recognize from the beginning that the path to liberation lies in these words: “The law of the Spirit of life has set me free in Christ Jesus.” This law is so perfect and powerful that it will save you to the fullest; There is no need to do anything to help him. This law frees you completely from sin, sanctifies you completely, and spontaneously fills you with life. But what was behind my sense of condemnation? Wasn`t it the experience of defeat and the feeling of powerlessness to do something about it? Before I saw that Christ is my life, I worked with a constant sense of disability; The limitation followed in my footsteps; I felt handicapped at every turn. I kept shouting, “I can`t do this! I can`t do that! Despite my best efforts, I discovered that I “cannot please God” (Romans 8:8). But there is no “I cannot” in Christ. Now it is said: “I can do all things that strengthen me” (Phil 4:13). Therefore, there is no condemnation now for those who are in Jesus Christ who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ freed Jesus from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:1, 2 and above). Brothers and sisters, do not think that the Holy Spirit in us expresses his life only occasionally through us.
When we think this way, it proves that we know only the Spirit; we do not know the law of the Spirit. The law of the Spirit constantly expresses His life. It remains the same at all times and in all places. We do not need to tell this law to behave in a certain way; He behaves as he does without our advice. As soon as the Lord opens our eyes, we will see that the treasure within us is not only the Holy Spirit or a life, but also a law. Then we will be freed, and the problem of sin will be over. How can Paul be so bold? Why does he say he is now free of restrictions and that he “can do anything”? Here is his answer: “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2). Why are there no more convictions? “For… “: There is a reason for this; There is something definitive that is responsible for this. The reason for this is that there is a law called “the law of the spirit of life,” and it has proven to be stronger than another law called “the law of sin and death.” What are these laws? How do they work? And what is the difference between sin and the law of sin, and between death and the law of death? Romans 8:1-2 says, “There is no more condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life delivered me in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.
The way to victory is to be free from the law of sin and death. This verse does not say, “The Spirit of life has delivered me from sin and death in Christ Jesus.” (I`m afraid many Christians think so.) Rather, he says, “The law of the Spirit of life has delivered me in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. Many Christians see how the Spirit of life only frees them from sin and death. They do not see that the law of the Spirit of Life frees them from the law of sin and death. It takes many years for some Christians to realize that sin and death are one law in them and that the Holy Spirit is another law in them. When the Lord opens their eyes, they will see that sin and death are a law, and that the Holy Ghost is also a law. The realization of the Holy Spirit as a law is a great discovery. When we realize that the life-giving spirit is a law, we jump up and cry out, “Thank God, Hallelujah!” Man`s will cannot overcome the law of sin, but the law of the Spirit of life has freed us from the law of sin and death. Only the law of the Spirit of life can free man from the law of sin.
God`s salvation is not only a redemption from sin, but also a redemption in His divine life. This is why the New Testament speaks of being saved in life, walking in a new life, and even reigning in God`s life. You are in Christ Jesus, and the law of the Spirit of life is in you. Spontaneously you are free. Until you rely on your own will and effort, the Holy Ghost will lead you to victory. No effort is required when we try to overcome one law with another. We have already mentioned that gravity is a law. He pulls each object to the ground.
But helium is a gas lighter than air. If we seal it in a tight balloon, the balloon rises. It will rise spontaneously; There is no need to whip it up or support it with any force. As soon as we let go, the ball rises. Insurrection is a law, and we have nothing to do about it. In the same way, no effort is required if we treat the law of sin and death with the law of the Spirit of life. When we see this, we will truly be free from sin. The Bible does not say that we can overcome sin by our will. She speaks only of liberation from sin: “The law of the Spirit of life delivered me in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” The law of the life-giving Spirit has taken us out of the realm of the law of sin and death. The law of sin and death is still present, but the one she worked on is no longer there. In this message, the most important thing to recognize is the law of the spirit of life.
Now let`s look at the contour point by point. First, the law of the spirit of life is the key to the mysterious organism in God`s economy in the New Testament. The mysterious organism in God`s economy in the New Testament is a matter of Christ, who is our life (Colossians 3:4a). With life, there is law. Without the law of life, we have only external rules and ordinances. For example, the Ten Commandments that God gave to Moses were not the law of life, but laws in letters. They were there to regulate man and expose the true state of man. But the law of the spirit of life we are talking about is a law of life. Life in this law of life is Christ.
Christ is life, and there is a law in His life. Therefore, the life of Christ is a law. This is exactly how God frees us from one law by introducing another law. The law of sin and death is there all the time, but God has promulgated another law—the law of the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ, and that law is strong enough to deliver us from the law of sin and death. You see, it is a law of life in Jesus Christ—the life of resurrection, which in Him met death in all its forms and triumphed over Him (Ephesians 1:19-20). The Lord Jesus dwells in our hearts in the person of His Holy Spirit, and if we give Him a clear path and commit ourselves to Him, we will discover that He will preserve us from the old law. We will learn what it means to be preserved, not in our own strength, but “by the power of God” (1 Peter 1:5). Therefore, victory over sin has nothing to do with our efforts. We made no effort when the law of sin taught us to sin. Likewise, we do not need to make efforts to make the law of the Holy Ghost deliver us from sin. The real victory is a victory that requires no effort on our part. We don`t have to do anything.
We can look up and say to the Lord, “All is well.” Our past failures were the result of a law, and today`s victories are also the result of a law. The old law is powerful, but the current law is more powerful. The old law is indeed powerful in bringing us to sin, but the current law is more absolute in saving us from damnation. When the law of the Spirit of life is expressed through us, its power is far greater than that of the law of sin and death. Moreover, the mysterious law of the spirit of life in God`s economy in the New Testament depends on the spirit of life as the law (Romans 8:2a). Therefore, the law and the spirit of life are not separate. On the contrary, the law is the spirit of life. Moreover, this law of the Spirit of life is the key to Christ being our life.
