Belson has 20 years of experience in various legal areas, including litigation, mergers and acquisitions, corruption prevention, trade control and data protection. He has been instrumental in developing and implementing the global data protection program for a number of companies and clients for whom he has worked over the past 11 years. As an expanded staff member of the Global Data Protection Office in Europe, he has covered Africa and Asia since 2018 and works closely with data protection authorities in these regions to meet the requirements of local laws in addition to implementing GDPR requirements. Belson has also worked with industry associations to shape government privacy and governance policies to enable a better industry response to rules and laws set by the governments of Singapore, the Philippines, India, China, Australia, the United Arab Emirates and Japan.
