What Are the Three Rules of Music

When I practiced this, I immediately saw a parallel with the musical arrangements. For example, each song will have three different sections regarding the plot (intro, main section, outro). Where each section meets, there must be a pivotal point, a transitional element. When I`m working, I always start by dividing the song into equal thirds, and then I divide again, so I have a total of nine sections. Without philosophizing too much, we want our music to engage our listeners. We want them to be fascinated, to experience a certain feeling that we want to convey, or sometimes we just want them to be entertained. But for composers and songwriters to communicate with our listeners, our music must engage them and clearly express our ideas. This is where the rule of three comes in to measure the effectiveness of our music. Well, even though I don`t agree with him from time to time, Sam does a great job explaining all these rules.
