Law Week is an annual event that promotes understanding of the law and its role in society. In 2018, ACC Australia celebrates Law Week by showcasing a selection of our members and their contributions to society and advocacy at large. During Law Week, ACC Australia will launch a member profile highlighting the in-house profession and the role of in-house counsel in public, private, government and not-for-profit organisations. Law Week includes a variety of events, including the essay contest, which was created in the late 1970s. You can follow all the activities on #lawweekvic2022 also on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Every year during National Law Week, an exhibition on criminal justice and family law is organized. The organization has extensively collected materials, images, and artifacts for this exhibition, some of which are being shown to the public for the first time. The first law school was founded in 450 BC.
The Faculty of Law was founded in Berytus, now Beirut, Lebanon. Whitelion began in 1999 with the vision of “ending the revolving door” for young people leaving the justice system. Trust funding has supported Whitelion and its Youth Mobile Service, which provides information, referrals, advocacy and personal support to vulnerable young people, particularly in the Balga and Mirrabooka regions, who have dropped out of the education system and need distraction assistance to reduce crime while increasing capacity and opportunities to participate positively in community life. The Headspace Kimberley team reached out to Broome Senior High`s Student Services team and asked them to identify the students who would benefit most from working with Headspace staff. The group of 10 youth included a mix of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students; Some were disconnected from school or remote communities, or had behavioural problems or low self-confidence. Noongar Patrol Oureach Service is an Indigenous not-for-profit organization created by a group of Aboriginal, governmental and non-governmental organizations whose vision is to provide culturally appropriate services to unsupervised youth at risk of moral peril who have come into contact with the criminal justice system. Funds received from the Trust have helped the organisation expand its presence on the streets through regular foot and mobile patrols, and help people access appropriate services and agencies through referrals.
