We are different from all other outfitter/guide services because we are based in the city. Located in the Halifax Regional Municipality, which covers just under 5500 square kilometres and although we do not hunt in urban areas, there are hundreds of square kilometres that are forested and very far from the city. We are only a 20 minute drive from Halifax Stanfield International Airport. We welcome our guests in hotels instead of remote hunting camps. We want hunters to be safe while enjoying their time in the forest. According to a regulation established by DNR, you must always wear hunter orange. You must wear at least 50% Hunter Orange, especially your hat and outerwear on the waist. If you take hunting dogs with you on your trip, an orange vest is the best way to make sure other hunters don`t mistake your pet for a wild animal. This also applies to non-hunters who walk in the forest. You don`t want to be mistaken for an animal in the forest by another hunter. If you use trees or other hunting equipment, be sure to follow safety precautions and make sure your equipment is in good condition.
Unlike traditional hunting packages offered at remote hunting lodges in remote areas of Nova Scotia, our accommodations are uniquely diverse. We offer private, fully furnished hotel rooms (yes, we take care of booking) in the heart of HRM. We also offer meals in the hotel`s dining room and packed lunches for any excursions you want to do, whether for sightseeing or in the forest with us. This is the beautiful Hearthstone Lodge in downtown Dartmouth. Only 20 minutes from Halifax International Airport and walking distance to parks, beaches and shopping. If you`re not in the forest, why not enjoy the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean in Nova Scotia and visit a few sites? The choice is yours and the possibilities are endless. As a rule, our hunts take place from afternoon to evening, so you will have plenty of time to explore in the morning or after a successful hunt. If you are new to hunting, you can contact your MNR office who will give you a list of designated hunting areas based on the animal you wish to hunt.
