The Rami 500 is a variant of the Rami that can be played with 2 to 4 players. The goal of the game is to form combinations of 3 or more cards, called fusions, to score more points than your opponents. To start the game, have a player reach out to everyone, starting with the player to their left and clockwise. If you play with 2 players, each player receives 13 cards. If you play with 3 or more players, each gets 7 cards. Place the remaining cards in a face-down pile in the middle of the playing field and rotate the top card face up next to it. The player to the left of the dealer goes first. When it`s a player`s turn, he has two options. The first option is to take the top card from the face down storage stack. The second option is to take a card from the open discard pile. When a player takes a card from the discard pile, he must pick up all the other cards that are at the top, and he must play that card in a fusion during that turn.
After drawing a card, players have the opportunity to put all the fusions in their hands. A fusion can be 3 or 4 cards of the same rank, such as three 8s, or 3 or more consecutive cards of the same color, such as 10, Jack, Queen and King of diamonds. Players can also lay down cards that can be played from another player`s report. For example, if one player has a mix of three 5s on the table, another player could put the fourth 5 in turn. When a player makes a report, he earns points for each of the cards played. Face cards count as 10 points and aces at 9 count as 5 points. If the ace is played as a high card, it counts for 15 points. At the end of a player`s turn, he must discard from his hand a different card than the one he picked up at the beginning of his turn. Then it`s the next player`s turn. Keep playing until a player runs out of cards and the turn is over.
At the end of the round, each player counts the points in the fusions played and adds this number to their total score. If a player still has cards in hand at the end of the turn, he adds up those points and subtracts that number from their total score. Once everyone has finished adding up their score, submit another round. Keep playing tricks until a player reaches 500 points and wins! If you want to learn additional rules that allow you to play Rummy 500, keep reading the article! Hi Susan, as far as my research can tell, there are no official rules for missing games in Rummy 500. This is at the discretion of the Group. I could suggest a repetition of the movement or skip their movement if the table thinks the misreading was bad enough to be punished. Hope this helps! Hi Zehavie, for your first question, there are no standard points you need to place initially. A player can merge any legal merger in turn or lay cards on already established mergers if he has placed one himself. For your second question, jokers must be declared when they are placed in a merge. A player must specify the rank and adjustment that the Joker must have, and the Jokers are irreplaceable in Rami 500. You cannot replace them to retrieve them for playback.
Once a wild card is placed, it remains in the fusion for the game. I hope this helps. Hi, I have 2 questions, I played this game last night with 3 other people who really didn`t have the game so I tried to show them and I don`t know if I was right with the rules, In one case, a player took several cards from the discard pile to #3 he wanted for three #3″, But further down the pile was the fourth 3, so another player wanted to take the other three to put them in front of them without making a report, only with the 3 for points is this allowed? And my second question is that another player made a race of 5,6,7,8 and in the discard pile the 4 and 9 were the same color, can the player with people on the left just take these 4s and 9s and put them in front of them and then continue their turn? Some rummy players play that each player must throw in the turn in which they exit. (A completed hit involves a fall in most variants of Rami 500, and each turn, even the last, is not considered complete without a stack drop.) This is often considered standard rules for rummy. Hi Mary, in traditional rummy, 500 Melds must be 3 or more cards to throw them. I`ve never heard of a variant that requires four in my own research, but maybe another member of the community did? When it comes to summoning Rami, any player can summon Rami at the end of a player`s turn if the card the player discarded can be used to develop a pre-existing merge, or if discarding the card merges with the other cards in the discard pile. The rummy must be called before the next player shoots. I hope this helps. Hey Bill, I hope she`s not too upset, haha, but I also strongly believe in changing the rules the way you all like to play.
Hello. Thank you for your detailed answers and rules! Just to be clear, does a player have the choice to draw a card from the discard pile or deck without having to immediately merge the top card from the discard pile? We have different family rules, so it would be good to know the official rules. Hi Doc, so for the first part of your question. When you discard your last card, a player cannot name rummy, even if your card generates rummy, because the game ends as soon as a player has no cards in hand. A rummy cannot be summoned after the end of the game. For the second part of your question, Joker and Aces are worth 15 points each. This has not been clarified, so I have updated the rules. Thanks for the information. Finally, cards that have been replaced by a wild card can sometimes become “dead cards”. Basically, a card has two places where it can be played, in a shuffle of the same card rank or in a series of consecutive cards of its color. If these two places become invalid, card 4 can no longer be legally played on the board.
You can only remove it from your hand by throwing it away. Hope this helps! in Rami 500 you can pick up at any time from the discard pile and by two cards down My girlfriend and I played 500 Rami last night and she approached 500 points. I put a lot of Melds in one hand and went out. After counting our points, our score was exactly the same, we both scored 515 points. What do you do in the event of a tie? These additional or alternative rules were introduced to simplify scoring and speed up games. Aces point variations change the dynamics of the game somewhat, as players are more or less likely to reveal them and play them as part of races. Full rules: In a two-player game, each player receives 13 cards. The dealer then discards the remaining cards face down, creates the supply and unlocks the top card next to it, creating the discard pile. The game goes around the table to the left.
If you leave a rummy in the pile, can you get out or absorb buttercups? Even if the jokers also play with aces, they go up to 20 or 25 points, and if they are declared in a report, what happens to the replaced card, obviously it cannot be used in the same mel race, but can it act as a Meld card if it is only a game in a race, not by color? ty Hi Roberta, not quite. If a player discards a card that can be shuffled instantly without using additional cards, you can call Rami to do so. Otherwise, you will have to wait your turn to draw and merge. What happens when 2 people call rummy on the pile. Who gets the tickets? My family was always playing where we were yelling “Rami!” and hitting/grabbing the card. If 2 (or more) people were to do it at the same time, it would go to the person who shouted it first/grabbed the card first.
